A coffee cup

The sun is up. I feel the early morning breeze getting into the folds of my blanket. I jumped out of the bed, did some stretching and closed my eyes for a minute of silence with a feeling of gratitude. It was really getting cold so I turned off the fan. I tried to find my slippers everywhere in my room but I couldn’t so barefooted, I opened the door, ran straightly to the kitchen because it seemed as though the coldness of the tile floor transferred into my foot, then got myself surprised that I found one pair of my slippers near the fridge. I couldn’t believe I still lose my slippers inside the house and where the hell did the other one go?

I bothered myself to get a coffee. Got my orange mug, put 1/4 teaspoon of coffee, sugar and poured the hot water. Ahhh… the smell. Nothing beats with the aroma.

Then, I started to sing…

with a cup in hand
relax ka lang at sumabay
with a cup in hand
lets all hang out for a while
tumambay muna tayo diyan sa tabi
may baon na kwentuhan at kape

one moment one nescafe

haha. i’m still stucked with the jingle song. LSS.

I went to the balcony wearing my bedtime wardrobe – a white top and PJs holding my orange coffee mug and wearing the left pair of my slippers.

And oh! There’s the other one. Haha. I found it under the table. Glad to have it back.

There goes Mr. Sun and his sky, the vendor, who seemed to reserve his voice and come up with a new tactic of horning his trumpet to signal the neighborhood that there’s a hot pandesal available – yup. no more yelling of “pandesal… pandesal kayo dyan”. I also saw kids, in their freshly ironed uniforms, running along with their noisy strollers heading to a nearby preschool. They are the first people I saw this morning and to whom I gave my smile.

I took a sip on my coffee. The sun hit my face and sent a shiver down on my body. The warmth felt like only one of those you love could give you. I sit down to take in the morning. It was beautiful. Really beautiful.

I sip my coffee some more and my mind started to wander about the things i have to do… get a job, earn money, and continue reading on with my review materials. Sometimes the stress is unendurable. “Do all people have this kind of life?” Probably, but to a different extent. I wonder if there’s also another person sitting having time with his coffee and his thoughts and thinks exactly the way I think right now. Or maybe I just need to prove that I’m not the only one helpless this early morning.

The world has its ups and down. I just like to think it that way. Because I know there is something more. There’s gotta be something else than the things I know for now. Maybe I am ought to find it later this day or maybe tomorrow and so.

I was humming the song again.

As I smile to the thought of having a beautiful morning like this, the fresh air seemed to purify my lungs and a scenic setting let just enough light into my mind and heart so that I could see some hope again.
