Do not fear, my child
Similar to ordinary days, I keep myself busy by reading a lot and watching tv. Until a sudden anxiety jerked my head and changed my mood. I tried to get rid of it, keeping myself focused but it didn’t work. So here I go again with the never ending what-ifs question. What if… what if… what if… what if I failed the board exams? Followed by pressure annoying me that I must pass.
Options are already laid on the table. I know whatever the result is, it will affect some of my plans and options. But talking about my parent’s plan, they want the easiest way for me to earn and help them. Of course, I’m considering working abroad?!.. (hffff..) also. But then again, what if I failed?
I started to feel troubled that I might disappoint my parents. So before I lose hope, I find a way to lift my spirit in distress.
I took a deep breath, read the verse
2Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
And uttered a prayer.
I felt relieved afterwards.;)

I came to understand that if we have plans for ourselves what more is our Lord, who gave us this life. You know He always provides answers to our doubting hearts. We only have to acknowledge his presence. But whatever it is that we want, remember that above it all are His plans working for a purpose.
Indeed, we should arm ourselves with faith. He wants us to realize that amidst all uncertainties and fears, He is our only strength.
Philippians 4:13
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
But you know why I really want to pass the board? Because I want to prove that I can keep up with my parent’s expectations.

Tnx. HAHA

Hi icka. I want to share a very nice verse from Mark 11:24, (I’ve received this message from SMS):
The Lord said, “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it… And it will be yours.” Godbless and sana pumasa tayo. Hehehe.
Thanks for visiting Unbearable Lightness, we’ll know this 29th. =)
Hi icks.
One thing I learned after taking our teachers’ board examination is that if I’ll fail, “soooo whut?!”
After all, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH FAILING!
Except for the fact that once people knew you didn’t make it, most especially that they’ve got high expectations for you to pass, insults fly.
I know the pressure of bearing parents’ expectations.
But Christians as we are, are firm to accept whatever God would give us for He knows His plans He has for us.
I believe your parents will realize or understand it “IF” you fail.
It’s often reiterated, if it’s not for you, something better is in store for you.
Purely optimism – and that’s a character of a world-class Jesus’ property.
So, just be optimistic whatever the result is.
Just my humbly opinion.
@ruff and quincy:thanks for the advice i really do appreciate it.sobra.
sometimes my soul has its ups and downs.and i was at my lowest when i felt anxious about failing the exams. but i’m seeing things in a positive way now and it’s because of the His help.if the results will be unfavorable for me,i know that He has greater plans than my disappointment.
hi,
i understand how you feel. this is a major episode in your life and the result of course will mean so much for your future. nonetheless, give your best. study hard for the board. it might also help if you reflect of proverbs 3:5&6 “trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct they path. =)
thanks for sharing, actually i have a figurine here in my room saying that verse.and it reminds me that above my dreams are His plans for me in purpose.
